EMERGENCY EXCERCISE
There has been a clay avalanche, approximately 25 m wide, on the western border of the Skien river, north of the Menstad bridge.
Personell from the police, fire brigade, Red Cross and Skien municipality are in place at the scene of the avalanche.
5 persons were involved in the avalanche. Two persons were washed into the river, but have been rescued by the Red Cross. Rescue operations are currently going on in the affected area.
The area surrounding the site of the avalanche consists of quick clay. Experts from the municipality are continuously monitoring the conditions to assess if evacuation needs to be initiated.
